Kusenaoshi - Ceramic Chasen Holder - Mori
- Kusenaoshi Mori is a ceramic chasen holder. Its purpose is to prevent the bamboo whisk from deforming.
Matcha is powdered green tea. It is an important part of the culture and traditions of the Japanese, who drink it during special tea ceremony. According to tradition, matcha is prepared using special accessories.
Kusenaoshi Mori is a ceramic holder for chasen – a bamboo whisk for "whipping" matcha tea. It is also called "chasentate" in Japanese. Although the kusenaoshi is not a must-have accessory in a matcha brewing kit, it proves useful for taking care of traditional tools. Its purpose is to prevent the bamboo chasen whisk from deforming. After use and washing of tea residue, chasen is placed on the kusenaoshi with the rods downwards. In this way, moisture is removed from the accessory more quickly and the whisk retains its shape for longer. The ceramic kusenaoshi holder has been coated with a glaze in a dark turquoise shade and a light-coloured underside. It can be placed in the dishwasher and washed with detergents without any worries.
